This course is designed for forestry workers who wish to develop their basic knowledge of safely transporting felled trees or logs to a road.
Training content
- Personal protective equipment and safety concepts regarding the use of various machines, machinery, and tools that may be used in the forest
- Basic knowledge of the main machines/machinery/tools, such as tractors, cable skidders, transporters (wheeled or tracked), loaders, trailers, portable winches, etc.
- Principles surrounding the respect of silvicultural prescriptions and environmental standards through the execution of the work
- Basic knowledge of safe maintenance of machinery

THE HEALTH AND SAFETY TRAINING – MANUAL FELLING (234-361) IS NOT A PREREQUISITE FOR TAKING THE FORESTRY SKIDDING TRAINING.
