Formation Animal Care

Prepare an individual to provide for animals’ basic needs, care, and cleaning equipment and facilities.
Animal caretakers may be called upon to work in research pet stores, retail pet stores, veterinary clinics, wildlife organizations and institutions (including zoos), humane societies, pounds, animal production farms, grooming businesses, rehabilitation centers, and institutions that provide pet therapy services.

Eligibility:

1. Have obtained at least secondary 3 credits or the equivalent in language of instruction, second language and mathematics; or have obtained an education level equivalence certificate (AENS); or have passed the general development test (TDG) with or without a specific prerequisite.

2. Have interrupted their full-time studies for at least twelve months; or be 18 years old at the time of entry into training; or have obtained a secondary school diploma (DES) or a professional studies diploma (DEP) or their equivalent; or meet the eligibility standards of Emploi-Québec’s Workforce Training Measure.
